A day at the beach

I find myself surprised, although we are in the middle of the valley, that it takes me 40 mins to drive to the beachfront. Mavrovouni, situated at the south of the peninsula, is never overpopulated because it spreads generously over a vast strip of land. Cafes, beach bars and small tavernas can be easily reached but I prefer to sit under the dunes and doze off with some tit bits I have prepared at home. Best times are just before sunset, when the majority has left and one can walk up and town bearing in mind of course that he will need to careful not to step on the Caretta caretta nests.
